First post.

This is going to be a probably, very, infrequent blog of my trials and tribulations through modelling N Scale. The reason I have chosen Nm for modelling is that I have very little space due to moving around alot. I am trying to model the Swiss RhB railway and felt that this was the only scale possibe that would allow me to be able to model something on a reasonable size, but not take up a huge amount of space.

I have see-sawed around and have picked many scales and gauges and also continents to model and am now resricting myself to one location, i.e. the RhB. It is going to be a challenge as there is little or no RTR rolling stock items. There are a number of small manufacturers, but prices are understandably high, due to most being hand built brass models. On the plus side the senery and buildings are to N scale so many of the currently available items from most of the European manufacturers can be utilised.

On my web travels there are very few English sites about this scale as most of the modelling is done not on these shores. But there is one layout of note and that is "Abula" by Piers Milne. I had the chance to see it at Zedex 06 but didn't manage to get any pictures as the camera I had at the time decided to pack up!

Over the coming months I will be gatering together information and bits to start building a small module/Diorama to test out practices before I build anthing bigger, space allowing! And will start to build up a bit of a knowledgebase for my modelling.
